The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has held a meeting with the board of directors of the Valencian Observatory of Migration, presided over by Francisco Mora, to which she has informed of the measure of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration in relation to the situation of migrants in areas affected by the dana.
The main objective of this initiative, according to Barnabas, is “to protect against situations of maximum vulnerability and prevent foreign people from being in a situation of unexpected irregularity”. Therefore, the Government, “aware of this situation”, has favored this mechanism that “gives legal security and tranquility” to immigrants from Dana areas, who will be able to continue studying, residing and/or working. “Today,” said Bernabé, “in the province of Valencia we need all those people who work in the recovery.” For this reason, he reiterated the invitation to the Generalitat to implement the mechanisms of active employment and training policies in order to “take advantage of all this wealth of human resources that can work in reconstruction”. The Government of Spain, as he recalled, has already implemented employment plans worth 50 million euros for the recovery of the different municipalities.
