A total of 800 FCSE troops will guarantee security on the night of San Juan in València, Gandia and Sagunt

A total of 800 troops of the State Security Forces and Corps will be deployed on the beaches of València, Gandia and Sagunto to ensure safety on the beaches on the occasion of the Night of San Juan. In the specific case of the city of Valencia, the operation will be composed of 500 National Police and Civil Guard personnel who will work in a coordinated manner with other security forces such as Local Police, Firefighters and Civil Protection.

The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has indicated that “this ambitious device” aims to guarantee normality on the beaches, while requesting “prudence to all citizens”. In this regard, he stressed that “there will be zero tolerance with the consumption of alcohol and drugs” and with gender violence. To this end, the Civil Guard will carry out blood alcohol checks at the entrances and exits of the city and in the beach areas, as well as a mobile unit of the Office of Complaints and Attention to Women (ODAM) on the beach of Malva-rosa “to which women victims of male aggression can go”. In addition to this unit of complaints against gender violence, there are two other tents of complaints from the National Police. The delegate has encouraged the download of the Alertcops APP for the prevention of crimes in situations where the location of people is necessary. The device will be composed, among others, of IPU units, cavalry, canine guides, helicopter and drones.
