The Palace of the Temple in Valencia, headquarters The Government Delegation in the Valencian Community, has opened its doors to the general public who has been able to visit this building that holds the classification of Property of State Cultural Interest. The citizens have received a brief talk of the functions and departments housed in the Government Delegation and have subsequently visited the various offices where they have also received an explanation of the history of the Temple Palace and its restoration.
This is one of the initiatives developed within the framework of the Open Administration Week 2024, promoted worldwide by the Alliance for Open Government, to which Spain has belonged since 2011, which has as its main objective to bring Public Administrations closer to the citizens.
Under the motto ‘The administration near you’, different groups of Valencian society such as young students, elderly people, associations of foreigners or women’s associations, among others, know the activity of the Government Delegation and Subdelegations and the services provided through these institutions.
To this end, an open house week has been organized, with a fortnight of activities organized by the Government Delegation and the Subdelegations, which extol the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, public integrity, collaboration and citizen participation.
Thus, in the province of Valencia, the sessions aimed at professionals of the Mislata Refugee Reception Center or the visit to the Government Delegation of young students to learn about the work that takes place in its facilities have been developed. In Alicante, students of the Legal Clinic of the University of Alicante, students of Secondary Education and users of old age centers have come to the Government Subdelegation to know the main services provided for the benefit of citizens. For their part in Castellón, talks have been held with different groups to which the resources available to the General Administration of the State have been made known.
