· Red Cross will provide maximum coverage in the Valencian Community through its 56 local assemblies, more than half a hundred vehicles and 100 volunteers

The Government Delegation in the Valencian Community in coordination with the Red Cross has launched the transport service during the electoral day on Sunday, June 9, to facilitate the right to vote for people with reduced mobility. The delegate of the Government, Pilar Bernabé, together with the regional president of the Red Cross, Rafael Gandia, presented this morning this service that is totally free and that is oriented to the citizens who need this transport because of age, illness or mobility problems.
Bernabé recalled that “the service can be requested until 3 p.m. next Thursday, June 6, either through the Red Cross telephone, or through the corresponding hospital center of the public network, in the case of being admitted or the municipalities that will contact the NGO”. The delegate stressed “the need for this service that guarantees the transfer to the polling stations for those people who, due to a question of age or illness, cannot travel by their own means”.
The only phone to request the service is 965918610 (24hs from Monday to Friday) or through the email eleccionescv@cruzroja.es.
During the election day of 9 June (from 9 to 20 hours), Red Cross volunteers will pick up at the indicated point the people who have requested the service, either from their hospital entry center, residence or home; they will transfer them to their electoral college, and they will take them back to the collection point.
Red Cross will give maximum coverage to the service where it is requested thanks to the local network of assemblies that it has in the Valencian Community. The regional president of the Red Cross has shown his “satisfaction to collaborate with the Government Delegation in the implementation of this service” To this end, he added, on the day of June 9 “Red Cross will mobilize a hundred volunteers and 56 special transport vehicles to offer the service in 380 towns of the Valencian Community from the 56 Red Cross assemblies. All this for an estimate of 300 transport attentions, according to previous electoral calls.”
