Agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the VioGén Teams of the province of Valencia have received during the morning specialized training in the field of gender violence and VioGén System in the Civil Guard Command of Valencia. The members of the Coordination Unit against violence against women of the Government Delegation in the Valencian Community have participated in these presentations.
This training action is embodied in a permanent planning aimed at providing the agents with tools and knowledge for a better development of their functions. In addition, it is designed as a “training of trainers” action, since the members of the VioGén Teams are the ones who train the officers of the posts, and the members of the local police forces adhered to the VioGén System.
In the province of Valencia, nearly 3,000 civil guards are directly or indirectly involved in the eradication of gender-based violence and protection of victims. In addition, currently, 59 local police forces in the province of Valencia are integrated into this system, of which 43 belong to the Civil Guard demarcation. The province of Valencia has the largest number of municipalities adhered to the VioGen system throughout the national territory.
In the Valencia Command the number of Gender Violence Teams is 7 centralized in the areas of Sagunto, Lliria, Requena, Xátiva, Gandia, Sueca and Paiporta.
The VioGén Teams that were born in 2022 have as their main mission, in addition to the training tasks, to supervise the actions that are carried out in territorial posts, with an improvement in the quality of data recording in the System through the unification of criteria. In addition, they are a point of reference to which to raise consultations regarding the protection of victims.
