The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided over the security coordination meeting with all the actors involved in ensuring the normal development of the 75th edition of the Cycling Volta to the Valencian Community.
After this meeting, the delegate indicated that “a total of 1,000 members of the National Police and the Civil Guard will guarantee the security of the Volta”. Of the total, the Civil Guard will mobilize 450 agents. Most of them belong to the citizen security unit (282) and the Traffic Group (87). In addition, 200 vehicles will be assigned between motorcycles and cars of the three Civil Guard commanders. In addition to the FCSE, there are the local police forces of the municipalities through which the Volta transits and the approximately 400 volunteers.
Bernabé pointed out that “the Volta will have the full support of the Security Forces and Corps to guarantee its normal development with a first-level device”. The race will run from January 31 to February 4.”
The meeting held in the Government Delegation is a technical meeting that has counted on the presence of the Civil Guard, National Police, local police of municipalities that are beginning or end of stage, and Traffic with the objective of coordinating the security device and “putting together all the work that will ensure that the Cycling Volta to the Comunitat, in the year that celebrates its 75th anniversary, develops without incident,” said the delegate.
The 75th Cycling Volta has a route of 759 km. divided into five stages (two stages run in the province of Valencia, two in the province of Alicante and one in the province of Castellón) and 19 teams participate in it. In addition, ten cities of the Valencian Community are departure or arrival of the race. The delegate recalled that “this year is also the 6th edition of the VCV Féminas professional women’s race, which runs parallel to the last stage of the men’s race”.
