The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, held this morning a meeting with the Government team of the City of Sueca, in which the project of humanization of the N-332 as it passed through Sueca was explained. This work has a budget of 4,4M€ from the Next Generation funds.
According to Bernabé, with this initiative “Swedish will win in green spaces and coexistence thanks to the sustainable commitment of the Government of Spain”, in line with what marks Europe and the 2030 Agenda.
The delegate thanked the mayor of the city, Dimas Vázquez, for “loyal cooperation” and “the joint work” to “humanize the N-332 and turn it into a real boulevard”. In this way, “a black spot, a real barrier that will become an element of cohesion for the locality” will be eliminated. Thus, this crossing is integrated that for years has divided the city in two but, above all, “it is done from a sustainable, inclusive and accessible perspective, reducing the space destined for vehicle traffic and promoting the transit of pedestrians and bicycles”.
The project aims to refurbish the road between the 252.1 and 257 kilometers, reducing the space for road traffic to integrate the road into the urban space and facilitate the transit of pedestrians and bicycles. To this end, the intervention includes the construction of roundabouts, the reduction in the width of lanes, the installation of a semi-frangible medium to channel traffic, the implementation of accessible bike lanes and sidewalks and the creation of elevated pedestrian crossings. In addition, the firm will be rehabilitated, improving its sound-absorbing characteristics and the lighting of the section will be renewed by means of LED lighting.
The program of humanization of journeys, which has a total investment of 105 M€ of European funds, with which it promotes the configuration of cities that return spaces to other forms of mobility alternative to the car and, therefore, “cities more sustainable, healthy and with an improvement in the quality of life of neighbors and neighbors.
