· Juan Antonio Nieves points out that “it will focus on the maintenance of cooperation relations” of the Central and Autonomous Administration
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presided over the takeover of the new subdelegate of the Government in the province of Alicante, Juan Antonio Nieves.
In this act, the delegate of the Government, has highlighted "the need to work together between administrations because, as she said, "when it has gone best for the Valencian Community it has been when the Central and Autonomous Administration have acted in a coordinated and loyal way". Bernabé said that “the Government of Spain extends its hand to the Generalitat to work for the progress and development of the Valencian Community!”. Bernabé also recalled that at present the province of Alicante has an investment of 1,600M€ from the Government of Spain, “a record and historic investment”. In addition, the transfers on account for the Valencian Community in 2024 reach €1000M. “These transfers are not a blank cheque for the Generalitat that must respond with policies that correct inequalities.” In this regard, Bernabé has indicated that “it is difficult for him to believe that, as a declaration of intent, one of the first measures of the Consell has been to cut taxes and, on the other hand, to claim more income from the Government of Spain”. “The Generalitat cannot ask for more resources on the one hand and cut back on the other,” he said.
Bernabé has also highlighted “the professionalism” of Nieves and the “great knowledge” he has of public service. In addition, Bernabé thanked the work carried out by Carlos Sánchez Heras at the head of the Subdelegation of Alicante who “assumed office at an important time for our democracy with the holding of the last General Elections”
On the other hand, the new subdelegate of the Government in Alicante has highlighted the role of the subdelegations, while indicating that it will focus “on maintaining the necessary relations cooperation and coordination of the General Administration of the State with the administration of the Generalitat, and of course, with the local entities and civil society”.
