The delegate of the Government of the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the General Head of the Sixth Zone of the Civil Guard in the Valencian Community, Arturo Prieto, presented this morning at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo de Cheste the special security device of the Motul Grand Prix of the Valencian Community, which is held from today to 26 November. During this period, the Armed Institute deploys close to 2,000 troops composed of civil guards of various specialties. It is, as he added, “an unprecedented device that will guarantee the safe development of one of the most important sporting events in the Valencian Community”.
As explained by the delegate, of the 2,000 agents participating in the device, “1,200 will be distributed throughout the circuit and 800 in Cheste, with tasks of road safety, public order, citizen security and anti-terrorism”. In this way, she added “the safety of the participants and attendees of the event is guaranteed”.
In addition to these means, there will be the support of a helicopter for capturing and transmitting images and a NIAS Team (Immediate Neutralization in the Event of a Sudden Attack) belonging to the Rapid Action Group, which is the unit for immediate action in the event of possible terrorist attacks.
The delegate has also recommended to the fans that, in order to avoid crowds, they inform themselves of the situation of the roads and of the accesses to the circuit on the official websites. In fact, the DGT has put in place special measures that will mainly affect the A-3, the A-7 and the AP-7 and will also carry out blood alcohol and drug use controls. Bernabé recalled that to ensure the fluidity of traffic, 4 access routes to the Circuit will be established, one of them exclusively for taxis.
For its part, Renfe has programmed a special device with 103 trains that stop at the Circuit station to travel to the Grand Prix. Over the weekend, 91 trains, in both directions, will run at twice their usual capacity. In addition, 4 special night trains are scheduled to run between the night of Saturday 25 and the early morning of Sunday 26 November.
The delegate has asked for “prudence” to all visitors who have been reminded of the existence of the AlertCops app for the telematic reporting of any crime. He also thanked the City of Cheste for its collaboration in coordinating security matters and installing violet points for the care and advice of women who may suffer some kind of harassment.
