· With the integration in the coming weeks of Bétera and Sueca, all municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants of the C.Valenciana will be operating in VioGén
· These data show “the maximum commitment of collaboration between administrations in the protection of women victims of male violence”
· Today, training sessions on gender violence have been held for 150 officers of the Civil Guard and local police attached to the VioGén system
The province of Valencia is the first in Spain in terms of the number of local police forces incorporated into the VioGén System. In total, there are 56 municipalities of which 40 are located in the Civil Guard demarcation. According to the Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, “this demonstrates the maximum commitment of the local authorities involved to collaborate in the protection of women victims of this violence.”
Likewise, added Bernabé, “the latest procedures are being closed for the effective adhesion to the VioGén System of the local police forces of the municipalities of Bétera and Sueca.” With the integration of these two municipalities, and in the coming weeks,” all the local police forces of municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants of the C. Valenciana will be operating in the VioGén System,” said the delegate.
The VioGén System brings together the different public institutions that have competence in the field of gender violence and aims to integrate all the information of interest that is deemed necessary. Barnabas pointed out that “this avoids, as far as possible, the revictimization of women.” In addition, this system allows to provide the victim with a “personalized security plan” with self-protection measures and carries out preventive work, issuing “automated notifications”, when any incident or event that may endanger the integrity of the victim is detected.
On February 28, 2023, in the C. Valenciana accounted for 12,060 active cases in this system, 15.9% of the national total, 5,373 of them in the province of Valencia.
