The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, stressed that the devices deployed by the State Security Forces and Corps in the Fallas and the Magdalena 2023, “have allowed us to enjoy safe parties without significant incidents, in which crimes have been contained, with figures similar to those of last year, despite the increase in visitors”.
In addition, it has valued “the responsibility and civility of the citizenry that has shown that we can have fun with responsibility and prudence.” Likewise, “the preventive work, professionalism and collaboration between the security forces has favored an extraordinary containment of crimes in general and a decrease of the most serious ones.” In fact, as the delegate stressed, “there has been no homicide and the crimes of serious injuries or pickpocket robberies have been reduced.” The number of detainees amounts to 354 in València capital during the last 9 days. In Castellón, 64 people have been arrested.
The objective of the security devices deployed by the Government Delegation has been, as Pilar Bernabé recalled, to meet all security needs such as the prevention of theft and surveillance of agglomerations. To this end, it has counted on the “collaboration and coordination of the different Security Forces and Corps that have guaranteed safe parties”. The delegate thanked the work of the more than 2,000 agents of the National Police who have ensured security in the cities of València and Castellón during these days.
