The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited together with the mayor of Xixona, Isabel López, the Center of Attention and Information of the National Institute of Social Security (CAISS) of the town that will serve the inhabitants of this population together with those of Tibi and Torremanzanas.
After this visit, Bernabé has announced “a crash plan” to “favor face-to-face care” in the Social Security procedures in the province of Alicante. In this regard, he pointed out that the 12 CAISS existing in the province “will focus on face-to-face care”, an issue that has been favored by “the reinforcement of personnel that this Government has opted for” and that has generated 29 new additions to the Provincial Directorate the INSS in Alicante and the improvement of the face-to-face care service.
“Faced with the actions of previous governments to reject public employment offers that generated deficient services,” the current Government of Spain has consolidated “public jobs to favor a more efficient and closer administration that meets the needs of the population where they live,” said Bernabé.
The delegate has pointed out that, while CAISS will focus on face-to-face care to prevent the collapse of the system, a “specific centralized unit” will also be created for the attention of telematics requests throughout the province. This shock plan will be “effective and will meet the needs of care especially of the older people who are the most difficult to make their requests telematically,” he said.
CAISS from Xixona
Bernabé also stressed the importance of the reopening of this CAISS, which will process in person the usual requests for retirement, pensions, maternity and paternity leave or the minimum vital income, among others, of Xixona, Tibi and Torremanzanas. This Social Security citizen care center will avoid “the discrimination that people living in rural areas often suffer to interact in person with the Public Administration, such as the long journeys to carry out their procedures.”
The delegate also highlighted “the ability of the Xixona Government team “to defend its interests and collaborate with the Central Executive”. In this regard, he recalled that Xixona has been “a pioneering and exemplary municipality in the approach of public administration to citizenship”. In fact, it was chosen in the province of Alicante to be the first population to develop the Plan La Administración near you of the Ministry of Territorial Policy destined to municipalities between 500 and 8,000 inhabitants.
