The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, who visited Alcoi today, said that for “the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, the connectivity of this city is indispensable”.
The delegate who was accompanied on this visit by the mayor of the municipality, Toni Frances, recalled that the General Budgets of the State of 2023 include a budget of 12 million euros for the Xàtive-Alcoi line, of which 7 million euros destined for security improvements “are already in execution” and “two other integral rehabilitation projects to end the connection, are in process”. In this last case it is about the integral improvement and modernization of the Alcoi-Ontinyent section, and another between Ontinyent and Xàtiva, both make up the entire line.
Bernabé highlighted “the firm commitment of the progressive governments with this city that have always favored the improvements of the connectivity of Alcoi with the rest of the country and the Valencian Community”
The delegate who visited some of the projects financed in the city by the Government of Spain said that “Alcoi is one of the most dynamic municipalities in the Valencian Community and throughout the Spanish State” in terms of the promotion of projects and investments. In this sense, he stressed "the effectiveness and good management of the municipal government team" that has generated projects that will receive more than 20 million euros from the Next Generation Funds, which is "a historical investment".
The Government of Spain has recognized through these funds that “the initiatives promoted by the City Council are already a reality”. Among these projects financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, Bernabé has highlighted, among others, the initiative for the rehabilitation of more than 374 homes in the residential environment of Sagrat Cor-Font Dolça ratified last Monday through the signing of an agreement with the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda or the project of low emissions zone of the central area of Alcoi.
