At the end of 2022, unemployment in the Comunitat Valenciana stood at 338,243 people, the lowest figure since 2008. After the fall of November – the most pronounced in the Spanish territory, with a reduction of 15,330 people – the fall in unemployment continues to consolidate in the Valencian Community, and in December 2022, it decreased by 1,052 people.
Regarding December 2021, year-on-year unemployment has fallen by 33,241 people in the Valencian Community. That is, it has occurred an annual reduction of close to 9%, despite the difficult international context, marked by the war in Ukraine.
By province, unemployment has been contained in both Alicante, Castellón and Valencia. Specifically, it has decreased by 161 people in Alicante, more than 10% less compared to December 2021. In Castellón, during December 2022 there were 51 fewer unemployed people, a year-on-year decrease of 2.8%. In Valencia, for its part, unemployment has been more pronounced, with 840 fewer people, a figure that is reduced by more than 9% compared to the end of 2021.
By sector, the biggest drop in the Comunitat Valenciana has been recorded in the services sector, with 1,217 fewer unemployed people in December 2022.
Stability in employment is consolidated
