Normality marks the beginning of Operation Strait Pass 2024. Yesterday, June 13, the first day of the official device, more than 12,000 documentary verifications have been carried out at the border of Ceuta.
Data first day OPE 24
6,893 people and 2,299 vehicles have left Ceuta for Morocco and on the contrary, from Morocco to Ceuta, 5,818 people and 1,459 vehicles have entered.
Forecast
According to the data handled by the Government Delegation, from yesterday, June 13 to Tuesday, June 18, it is estimated that some 4,000 vehicles a day can use the Tarajal border both towards Morocco and towards Ceuta.
It is therefore the first critical point facing the device and it is working in a highly satisfactory way despite the coincidence, in this 2024 edition, of works in port and border that have demanded to develop alternative solutions.
From the Civil Protection area of the Government Delegation, we want to highlight the magnificent work being done by the National Police, the Civil Guard, heads of the Port Authority and the Autonomous City, the Port Police, the Local Police, personnel of Amgevicesa, personnel of the Red Cross, workers of the shipowners and personnel of the auxiliary companies of the Port.
The provincial coordinator of OPE 2024, Abselam Abdel-lah, wanted to state that “Operation Strait Pass is organized by more than 100 troops in real time that coordinate the transitions between Port, Bagging and Border”. For the head of state in Ceuta of the OPE this “is an organizational challenge whose main objective is to banish forever the PEs of the past in which the city saw road fluidity compromised, priority access to the Hospital or the intervention of the Emergency Services.”
