What is a Violet Dot? A violet dot is a safe place for victims of male violence. In a violet point, the victims of male violence will be cared for, supported and accompanied. Violet Points are equal rights spaces that are built within the framework of the “Plan Include”, where women and people of sexual diversity will be able to access the programs, initiatives and public policies of the Ministry of Equality, Gender and Diversity.
Punto Violeta is an instrument promoted by the Ministry of Equality to involve the whole of society in the fight against male violence and to spread, in a massive way, the information necessary to know how to act in a case of violence against women. It is part of the catalogue of urgent measures of the Improvement and Modernization Plan promoted by different ministries of the Government of Spain in the context of male chauvinistic alarm in recent months and represents a change of focus in public policies of attention to victims, placing male violence as a structural problem that requires the involvement of the whole of society to put an end to it.
