In order to guide the students who aspire to obtain the degree of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education, this week different informative sessions have been carried out in the two Adult Education Centers in the Autonomous City of Ceuta, ECA Edrissis and ECA Miguel Hernández, to inform the students who finish their secondary studies of the different academic and work alternatives possible.

These work sessions on the academic and professional orientation offered by the MEFP in Ceuta during the current academic year 2022/23 have been organized and taught by María del Mar Ruiz Villalba, Educational Counselor in the two Adult Education Centers of Ceuta, in collaboration with the advisors of Educational Programs Unit of the Provincial Directorate of the MEFP in Ceuta (Álvaro González and Javier Domínguez of FP and Laura Sánchez of Adult Education)

The group to which these informative talks have been addressed has been the students of 4º ESPA who study in both face-to-face and distance mode, in the different morning and afternoon shifts, of the two educational centers mentioned.

Among the contents exposed in these presentations, all the information related to the academic-professional outings can be chosen in Ceuta once the title of Graduate of Compulsory Secondary Education is obtained, making a distinction between regulated training and non-regulated training.

On the one hand, in relation to regulated training, everything that the MEFP offers in terms of Professional Training is presented, such as the different professional families taught in Ceuta (Sociocultural and Community Services, Electricity and Electronics, Hospitality and Tourism, Food Industries, Health, Transport and Maintenance of Vehicles, Agriculture, Physical and Sports Activities, Textile, Clothing and Leather, Personal Image, Administration and Management, Commerce and Marketing, Computer and Communications, Installation and Maintenance, Construction and Audiovisual Work).

Likewise, the preparatory and specialized nature of these studies is emphasized, which once completed, facilitate access to the labor market, which is possible to combine with a Higher Degree Training Cycle.

The Intermediate Degree Training Cycles most demanded at present in Ceuta are: “Care for people in a situation of dependency”, corresponding to the professional family of Sociocultural Services and the Community, and “Auxiliary Nursing Care”, “Health Emergencies” and “Pharmacy and Parapharmacy”, belonging to the professional family of Health.

On the other hand, unregulated training has also been reported: the workshops offered by private entities and the SEPE in Ceuta, in addition to the competitions to the C2 group that can be carried out with the title of ESO Graduate.

In addition, this section includes information regarding the option of recognition of acquired professional skills, that is, recognition through your work experience in a professional qualification.

These informative sessions have been very well accepted by the target students, who have participated actively at all times, raising doubts and concerns of all kinds.

The objective of counselling pursued in these sessions has been met in addition to successfully conveying the importance of continuous training.

The EPALE-Ceuta, which is the electronic platform for adult learning, is grateful for the collaboration of María del Mar Ruiz Villalba, Educational Counselor in the two Adult Education Centers during the current academic year 2022/23.
