Barcelona, June 6, 2024.- The Government Delegation has completed the training of representatives and transmitters who will participate in the European Elections on Sunday, June 9.
There are 5,583 officials of the General Administration of the State, but also of other administrations such as the Generalitat, who have registered throughout Catalonia to act as representatives and transmitting representatives on election day.
The representatives of the Administration collaborate in the preparation of the polling stations and provide their transceiver/coordinator with the data of constitution, the progress of participation and, from 20 hours, the results of the polling of the polling stations that have been assigned to him.
As for the transmitters, they also collaborate in the preparation of the electoral tables and transmit to the CRI (Information Collection Center), through a Tablet, the data of the tables that it has assigned.
From the Office of Documentation and Information on Electoral Processes of the Government Subdelegation in Barcelona, coordination functions are carried out with the different municipalities of the province, as well as contact with the Ministry of the Interior - Ministry competent in the organization of these elections to the European Parliament.
In addition to these functions, the Office ' s increased workload is concentrated on the selection and training of representatives of the Administration. In the case of the city of Barcelona, the selection and management of the training is assumed directly by the Government Subdelegation.
On the one hand, representatives are selected and trained with Tablet (transmitters), which this year has reached a total of 445 people. In this case, the awarding company of the ballot box conducts a training on the operation of the device for sending the data of constitution of the electoral table, the advances of participation, and the results of the ballot box.
They are also informed about the work they must carry out during the election day. These training sessions took place on 21, 22 and 23 May at the headquarters of the Directorate-General for Traffic.
On the other hand, the other representatives of the Administration are selected and trained, which this year has amounted to 517 people for Barcelona. From the Subdelegation there are training sessions that have been held on 3, 4 and 5 in different venues --the auditorium of the Provincial Directorate of the INSS of Barcelona, that of the Provincial Directorate of the SEPE and the Escola d’Administració Pública de Catalunya -- in the morning and afternoon.
These training days are aimed at detailing the tasks that representatives must carry out during the day of the elections, both in the opening of the polling stations until the constitution of the table, during the first and second progress of participation, and during the counting of votes. In this way, the representative transfers the data to the person acting as a transmitter so that the transmitter immediately carries out the data transmission.
