- Prieto visits the town hall of Sant Adrià de Besòs and meets with the mayor Filo Cañete
Sant Adrià de Besòs, July 11, 2023.- The government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, on Tuesday carried out an institutional visit in Sant Adrià de Besòs and met in the town hall with the mayor Filo Cañete and his government team.
The delegate has been able to visit the area of the beach of Sant Adrià where in May 2021 the works of decontamination of the sand were started after the detection of heavy metals. This task that is in the final phase is being carried out by the Company for the Management of Industrial Waste (EMGRISA) by order of the Ministry of Ecological Transition at a cost of 1,197,849.53 euros. Once the replacement of the sand is completed, it will be the Agència de Residus de Catalunya that will determine when the beach can be reopened to the public and the delegate trusts that it will be “as fast as possible”.
CAP THE MINE
The meeting between the mayor and the government delegate in Catalonia addressed other issues that affect the municipality and to which Prieto has shown his support, such as the creation of a new audiovisual hub in the area of the three chimneys or the cession of the Primary Care Center (CAP) in the neighborhood of La Mina. The delegate explained that he is maintaining contacts with the General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS), owner of the site, so that this disused outpatient clinic can be ceded to the Generalitat and services for the elderly can be rehabilitated and located.
