The National School of Civil Protection trains in flood and flood rescue techniques in the Tormes River as it passes through Barco de Ávila

The National Civil Protection School, under the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Ministry of Interior, is holding a new edition of the course on basic safety techniques and intervention in rescue and rescue in rivers, floods and floods for multidisciplinary teams.
A formative action that is being carried out on the Tormes River, as it passes through the town of Barco de Ávila, which aims to provide the necessary knowledge to face emergency situations in rivers or before floods or floods, with the adversity that they entail.
The National School of Civil Protection points out that floods are the natural risk that usually causes the most damage to people and goods in Spain, being numerous the aquatic rescues of people dragged by currents or trapped in their vehicles that must perform the intervention services.
That is why the National Civil Protection School promotes training in the basic techniques of self-protection in rescue, rescue, support, collaboration, security, lines of intervention and coordination with the various emergency teams.
An action aimed at first responders from security and emergency teams of the State Security Forces and Bodies, firefighters, health workers and civil protection groups.
The objective is to familiarize the rescuer with this aquatic environment and to know the safety and intervention techniques that are necessary to optimize the rescue work by making good use of the available human and material equipment.”
During the course, in which about twenty students participate and which will last until this Friday, the students will develop practices of both an individual and a group nature in the waters of the Tormes River. These days are part of the ongoing search for the optimization of human resources in rescue and rescue work, in this case, in the aquatic environment.
