The Civil Guard arrests five men as alleged perpetrators of a hundred robberies in several provinces

The government delegate in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in Soria, Miguel Latorre, and the lieutenant colonel head of the Civil Guard Command of the province, Sergio Peñarroya, presented on Tuesday an operation of the Civil Guard that, under the name Biertizo, has resulted in the arrest of five men, all of them neighbors of localities of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, as alleged authors of a hundred crimes of robbery in homes, among other industrial facilities,

The investigation began in November 2023, when the Civil Guard was able to observe the confluence of several lines of investigation that shared a common link for the modus operandi detected. He pointed out that these events could have been committed by the same perpetrators.

The investigations that were being made indicated that the authors would be based in the south of Madrid. For the commission of the crimes they would travel to different provinces close to the autonomous community of Madrid, such as Soria, Guadalajara, Segovia or Zaragoza.

From the analysis of the thefts, it emerged that the authors did not aim for a specific type of effects, such as jewelry or money, but they subtracted tools, agricultural machinery, food, alcoholic beverages, clothing, electronic elements or household goods.

This group, very active in the commission of its activities, placed the stolen material using establishments for the sale of second-hand objects, as well as a usual group of alleged receptionists, which allowed them to sell the stolen objects and material.

INTERCEPTED IN GUADALAJARA

The investigations allowed that, in early April 2024, the main perpetrators were intercepted in the province of Guadalajara after having perpetrated four thefts in homes in that province while on the run.

As a result of these arrests, several searches were carried out in the towns of Getafe and Madrid and numerous stolen effects were recovered.

The investigations carried out have made it possible to clarify, to date, numerous crimes of theft. 82 of these crimes were committed in the province of Soria and 13 in Segovia. Four robberies in Guadalajara and another in Zaragoza have also been cleared up.

It should be noted that among the objects stolen was material used to extinguish fires at the base of the Junta de Castilla y León in the town of Bayubas de Abajo. This material has been recovered.

Investigations are continuing since it is estimated that they could be the perpetrators of other robberies. These investigations have been carried out by members of the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Soria Command, with the support of the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Guadalajara Command and the Citizen Security Unit of Soria.

The detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Court of First Instance under investigation in Almazán.
