The Council of Ministers has today authorized the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to tender, through Adif, the service contract for the comprehensive management of civil protection facilities in the tunnels of the Zamora-Pedralba-Taboadela section, within the high-speed line Madrid-Galicia, with an estimated value of 14.2 million euros (VAT not included).
The comprehensive management of these key elements for passenger safety and infrastructure will be carried out in 43 tunnels, 15 monotubes and 14 bitubo and will cover different areas:
- Lighting in tunnels, evacuation galleries, safe rescue areas outside the tunnels, transformation centers and technical rooms.
- Fire extinguishing systems.
- Air circulation/pressurization systems in galleries and emergency exits.
- Emergency signaling and beaconing.
It also includes the cleaning of the tunnels and their drains, galleries, emergency exits, evacuation platforms and technical premises, as well as the buildings in the mouths of the tunnels. Also the maintenance of concrete arches and gutters, power cabling, signage and communications and handrails.
The period of operation is 48 months, extendable by a maximum of 12 more months.
