The Government cites for €1.3M the maintenance of León’s penitentiary units

• The contract will allow to carry out the work of comprehensive maintenance of the facilities in the penitentiary center of Villahierro, the Social Insertion Center ‘Jesús Haddad Blanco’ and the custody unit of the University Hospital

April 15, 2024. The Official State Gazette published on Monday the announcement of the tender for the contract for the comprehensive maintenance of the penal units of the province of León by the General Subdirectorate of Planning and Economic Management, dependent on Penitentiary Institutions.

The contract, worth 1.3 million euros, includes the maintenance of the facilities of the penitentiary center of Villahierro, located in Mansillas de las Mula, the Social Insertion Center ‘Jesús Haddad Blanco’ and the Restricted Access Unit (UAR) of the University Hospital of León.

The duration of the contract will be two years, initially from September 1, 2024 or from the date of formalization of the contract if it were later. It also provides for the extension of the contract for two years.

Penitentiary establishments have numerous and complex facilities that, in order to achieve their proper functioning, require maintenance according to their peculiarities, including preventive, technical, legal and corrective maintenance.

In general, the integral maintenance services contemplated by this contract will be those that affect the facilities and equipment, as well as the constructive elements inherent to both.
