The Government of Spain promotes an innovation and teleworking center in San Pedro Manrique
Thanks to an agreement between MITECO and the Provincial Council to promote Conect centers in rural areas at risk of depopulation
April 11, 2024. The Public Sector Contracting Platform yesterday included the announcement of tender for the conditioning works of a Conect center in San Pedro Manrique. This action is carried out thanks to the agreement signed between the Government of Spain, through the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), and the Provincial Council of Soria for the implementation of centers oriented to business networking, cooperation and teleworking.
The estimated value of the contract is 57,000 euros and the execution time has been set at two months. The deadline for submitting tenders is 26 April.
This initiative of MITECO aims to promote a network of centers of this type that contribute to social cohesion and economic development of the territory at risk of depopulation.
The initiative, which is being carried out with the support of the provincial deputies, has begun to be deployed in the provinces with the greatest territorial vulnerability (Soria, Cuenca and Teruel). Specifically, the centers will be located in municipalities or singular entities with a population equal to or less than 5,000 inhabitants.
The Conect Network aims to facilitate the implementation of innovative processes that involve the local population, in line with Axis 3 of the Plan of 130 Measures in Response to the Demographic Challenge. The attraction and fixation of talent requires spaces for its development. Spaces where innovation leads to new economic activity and results in an increase in the provision of services in small municipalities and rural areas.
The Conect Centers will contribute to the implementation of labor initiatives of the population of the target municipalities through the creation of spaces equipped with the necessary technical and human resources to facilitate teleworking, business collaboration and training in digital skills.
The role of these centers will be essential to promote the technological integration of neighbors, a key element to reduce the digital and social gap, favor equal opportunities and promote citizen participation. Its actions will be aimed at guiding and promoting e-administration, employment and the procedures of municipal and community services.
