March 27, 2024.- The government delegate, Nicanor Sen, took stock on Wednesday of the first two years of the Digital Kit Program of the Government of Spain, which has already granted in the Community more than 20,000 grants amounting to more than 86 million euros. These figures, which at the national level exceed 353,000 grants and 1.5 billion euros of investment, make this program, as highlighted by Sen, “the most demanded in the history of Spain”.
This government initiative has a budget of 3,067 million euros and is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan; the Digital Spain 2025 agenda, and the Digitalization Plan for SMEs 2021-2025, and is managed by Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.
Kit Digital aims to digitize companies with less than 50 employees and self-employed workers from all productive sectors throughout the national territory and contribute to modernizing the Spanish productive fabric. In September last year, a new call was published aimed at communities of property, professional civil societies, civil societies with commercial activity and agricultural holdings of shared ownership.
“We are talking about grants that allow these small and medium-sized companies and self-employed professionals to improve their website, manage their social networks, offer their services through a virtual office… in short, solutions that aim to promote their growth and presence in new markets and modernize the productive fabric,” said Sen, who has encouraged all small and self-employed companies in the Community to apply for this digital voucher, since the application period is open until December 31 of this year.
The amounts of aid are 12,000, 6,000 and 2,000 euros depending on the number of workers in the company. Companies with between 10 and less than 50 employees can apply for assistance of 12,000 euros and consume it in one or more solutions from the Program catalog, companies with between 3 and less than 10 employees opt for assistance of 6,000 euros and companies with between 0 and less than 3 employees can access assistance of 2,000 euros.
In addition, as the delegate has advanced, work is under way to modify the Program’s basic order to include two important developments. “One is the extension of the financial amount aimed at companies with between zero and less than 3 employees, whose assistance will be extended by 1,000 euros and will add the possibility of acquiring hardware; the other is the publication of a call addressed to medium-sized companies, that is, between 50 and 250 employees,” he said.
DEMAND BY SECTOR
As for the sectors that have most demanded the help of Kit Digital in Castilla y León the data are similar to the national ones with 32% of the total requests of the Commerce and Hospitality sector, followed by 20.37% of the Other Services sector and 14.31% of Financial and Insurance Activities.
The delegate also wanted to highlight the agility in the processing and granting of this aid since, “thanks to robotization tools, it has been possible to reduce the processing time of a file from three hours on average to three minutes”. It is, he said, “to incentivize the demand for these subsidies by avoiding the cumbersome procedures and excessive waiting times that can often put potential beneficiaries behind.”
