Adif awards the works of suppression of the passage at the level of Valdistilllas
Conventional width line Madrid-Hendaya
March 12, 2024.- The Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) has awarded the works of suppression of the passage at the level of Valdistilllas (Fexility) located at kilometer 227/324 of the conventional wide railway line Madrid-Hendaya.
With an investment of more than 2.4 million euros and an execution period of eight months, the action includes the construction of a higher pass, which will contribute to increasing the safety conditions of the transport infrastructures in the environment, both for rail circulations and road traffic.
This step will consist of a three-span structure with floating stirrups and prefabricated beams of 8 meters of free width. The upper pass is designed to have at least a horizontal free gauge of 28.19 metres, between battery faces, and a vertical free gauge of 7.25 metres. The total length of the board is 77.80 meters.
The cross section of the passage allows the arrangement of two bands of 0.90 meters for the location of an anti-vandal barrier and a metallic pretile on each side. The road is formed by two lanes of 4.00 m, in this way the width is 9.80 mentros between external faces of the board.
Likewise, service roads have been designed in both margins so that they coincide sensibly with the current ones, so as not to interrupt any of the movements currently possible, and optimize as much as possible the local road network.
The action contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Health and Welfare), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
