Renfe awards the road transport service through VTC that connects Soria with the AVE in Catalayud

March 1, 2024.- Renfe has awarded the company Buses J. Aguilar, SLU the competition to provide the stage of road transport through VTC between Soria and Calatayud, in the combined service VTC+AVE offered by the company between the capital of Soria and Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza or Huesca. The new contract enters into force on March 1 and will be in force until December 31, 2024.

Following the decision of the Ministry of Transport, at the end of last year, to extend the bonuses to this connection of Soria with the AVE in Calatayud, Renfe in turn extended the contract with the provider of the road service and prepared a new contract, which has just been resolved. Buses J. Aguilar, SLU has been awarded the contract after presenting the best offer.

The conditions for the provision of the service, which requires registration in Soria, are equal to those established since it was launched, in July 2023. The awarding company must guarantee the transfer of passengers from Soria station to Calatayud station at 5:50 hours from Monday to Friday and at 18:30 hours from Monday to Sunday. And from the station of Calatayud to that of Soria at 8:10 from Monday to Friday and at 20:20 from Monday to Sunday.

This combined transport service of Renfe, which connects the communities of Castilla y León, Madrid, Aragón and Catalonia, offers four daily circulations between Soria and Madrid, two for each direction, and three daily circulations from Soria to Barcelona and Zaragoza, two going and one back, as well as an additional circulation to connect Soria and Huesca.

On February 1, Renfe expanded the daily available places to 20, 5 for each service.
