January 25, 2024.- The Public Sector Contracting Platform includes the tender for the contract for improvement and modernization works of the Zamora Waste Treatment Center (CTR), for an amount of more than three million euros in charge of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of the Government of Spain.
The work will last ten months and will focus on the adaptation for the treatment of the selective collection of bio-waste and installation of optical separators in classification of these facilities managed by the Solid Waste Treatment Consortium of the Province of Zamora.
The subdelegate of the Government in Zamora, Ángel Blanco, has highlighted the impact of the Recovery Plan to make the ecological transition in the province a reality and has pointed out that the modernization of the waste treatment center is an example of how the Government promotes a greener and more modern Zamora.
The presentation of offers is open until the next 19 of February. In particular, the maximum amount, including taxes, amounts to 3,003,888.37 euros. The completion is associated with the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain with NextGenerationEU funds. The contracting entity is the General Assembly of the Consortium for the Management of Urban Waste of the Province of Zamora.
As detailed in the technical project, the works include the following actions:
- Modification of the configuration of exit of sinks and overflows of trommeles for the organization of the processing of Organic Fraction of Selective Collection (FORS) by the current line 2 of treatment of the rest fraction.
- Instalación de separador magnético e inductivo en línea de hundido de trómel 1 para tratamiento de envase ligeros (EELL).
- Complete change of configuration and optical separation equipment by replacing the two existing opticians with three more efficient opticians.
- Installation of a new air supply assembly to the new optical separators by compressor, drying module and reboiler.
- Installation of inductive separator in the rolling flow after passing through optical separation for the recovery of aluminum.
- Installation of aluminum accumulation bunker for shipping to multi-product press.
- Construction of storage chunks by means of reinforced concrete walls in composting hall, refining hall and crushing area of pruning remains.
- Division by wall formed by prefabricated concrete blocks of the waste arrival pit to make independent the arrival of the waste of the rest fraction with the waste of the FORS.
The objective is to improve waste management in the province, in accordance with principles that allow to mitigate the adverse impacts on human health and the environment, as well as to improve the efficiency in the use of resources, all in accordance with European and national regulations that frame the management of waste from domestic and commercial sources.
The CTR of Zamora currently has an estimated capacity for the treatment of 80,000 t/year of fraction "all one" or "rest" and of 8,800 t/year for the treatment of containers.
