January 24, 2024.- The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, assures that the winter road protocol is fully prepared to meet the needs of the state road network that may arise with adverse weather phenomena.
The deputy delegate visited today the A-1 Winter Road Center in Santo Tomé del Puerto, accompanied by the mayor of this town, Dionisio Ángel Ruiz; the lieutenant colonel of the Civil Guard, Benito Donate; the provincial head of Traffic, Pedro Pastor; the head of the Road Unit, Enrique Arredondo; and the head of Civil Protection of the Government Subdelegation, Mariano Otero.
The A-1, which runs through the province for more than 44 kilometers (from 95 to 140), divides its management into two sections. The UTE Somosierra 2021 is the concessionaire of the conservation of the stretch between the border of the province with Madrid and Santo Tomé del Puerto (kilometers from 95 to 101) and has 30 snowploughs, four off-road vehicles, four pick-ups, a ship with capacity for 800 tons of sodium chloride and a plant with the possibility of manufacturing 6,000 liters of brine per hour, among other means. At km 99 there is a parking for 280 cars.
The conservation of the stretch of kilometers 101 to 140, between Santo Tomé del Puerto and the border of the province of Burgos, corresponds to Autovía de Arlanzón. It has 20 thrust snow removers, five SUVs, three loader blades, four silos and a ship with capacity for 1,280 tons of sodium chloride and a plant with the possibility of manufacturing 6,000 liters per hour of brine.
“These media, plus the collaboration of all the agencies involved in the winter road, Civil Guard, Roads, Civil Protection…, are about to get up and running at the right time,” said the deputy delegate.
Next, Marian Rueda has moved to the car park in Boceguillas, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Cristina Cristóbal. This parking lot, located at kilometer 117 of the A-1, can accommodate 1,500 vehicles.
Representatives of the two concessionaires have also participated in the visit.
Nine are the parking points on the A-1 in the province of Segovia, with capacity for 2,670 vehicles. Apart from Boceguillas and Santo Tomé del Puerto, they are located in one Cerezo de Abajo, three in Castillejo de Mesleón, one in Carabias and two in Honrubia de la Cuesta.
CIVIL GUARD BARRACKS
The subdelegate of the Government also visited today the headquarters of the Civil Guard of Boceguillas, where an investment of 1.8 million in energy efficiency actions is planned, in a project that will be launched in the coming months.
The actions are included in the agreement between MITECO and the Ministry of the Interior, for the development of the joint actions of the energy transition plan of the AGE within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). In this section it will also be invested in the barracks of the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso and Lastras de Cuéllar, with 811,000 and 431,700 euros respectively.
The planned actions at the Boceguillas headquarters consist of improvements in exterior insulation, both in facades and roofs, the change of windows and interior lighting, and the installation of solar panels.
“The goal is to save energy and achieve greater efficiency in the building,” said the government deputy delegate.
