January 17, 2024.- The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, visited the headquarters of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) and the General Treasury (TGSS).
Marian Rueda has toured the facilities, accompanied by the provincial director of both departments of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Miguel Ángel Cabo.
The INSS, which currently has about 130 workers in Segovia, is responsible for the recognition and control of the economic benefits of the Social Security System in its contributory form, the economic allocation for a non-contributory dependent child, and the conditions of insured person and beneficiary (owner, family or equivalent) for health coverage.
It also has among its functions the management of the Special Fund of Mutual Societies of Social Security Officials or the Register of Public Social Benefits.
For its part, the TGSS, where some 60 people work in Segovia, is entrusted with the registration of companies and affiliation, ups and downs of workers; the management of the contribution and collection of quotas and other financing resources of the Social Security system; the management of the Electronic Data Referral System (RED); the postponement or fractionation of Social Security quotas; and the management of the Social Security Reserve Fund, among other functions.
Among the data analyzed by the subdelegate with the provincial director, it was found that in the province ended 2023 some 34,800 pensioners with an average benefit of around 1,140 euros per month, about ten percent more than in the previous year.
Regarding the Minimum Vital Income (IMV), with data from September 2023, there were 4,269 beneficiaries in Segovia, of whom 1,949 were minors, and 1,183 benefits were granted with additional assistance for children. In total, the monthly payroll for the payment of these benefits was around 515,000 euros.
As for the number of companies, on September 30, 6,012 are registered in the General System, 316 in the Special Agrarian System and 1,376 in the Special System of Household Employees.
In addition, last year it ended with 64,366 workers affiliated to the Social Security, 1.8 more than at the end of 2022.
