PRTR component 25
The measure helps to comply with Component 25 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). In particular, it is part of the Programme for the Promotion and Internationalisation of the Audiovisual Sector included in the investment 1 of this component, which aims to improve the competitiveness, competence and resilience of the entrepreneurial and creative fabric of the audiovisual sector taking into account strategic aspects of the value chain such as the promotion, dissemination and exploitation of audiovisual content in which festivals play a decisive role.
To ensure that the subsidised expenses are compatible with the objectives of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, only expenses intended to boost Spanish film festivals in their dual green and digital transition are financed from European funds.
Among the eligible expenses associated with digitization are the application of artificial intelligence to marketing studies, testing with the public and detection of new audiences, or expenses for rental or purchase of virtual or immersive reality technology. The expenses associated with sustainability include analyses or studies measuring the carbon footprint or environmental impact of the festival activity, the hiring of sustainability agents for the development of the festival or training activities in the field of sustainability.
