December 20, 2023.- The Subdelegate of the Government in Zamora, Ángel Blanco, presided this morning the meeting of the Local Security Board of Zamora capital on the occasion of the Christmas holidays. The meeting was attended by the Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Guard in Zamora, Héctor David Pulido, the Chief Commissioner of the National Police Force in Zamora, Guillermo Vara, current Chief of the Municipal Police of Zamora, Vicente Urones, the General Secretary of the Subdelegation of the Government in Zamora, Carmen Lucila Fernández, the Chief of the Local Regime of the Junta de Castilla y León in Zamora, Benita Martín, territorial technician of the Civil Protection Zamora, Pedro Tago the Citizen Red Brigade,
During it, the collaboration and coordination that will be developed on the occasion of the Christmas celebrations has been highlighted. Ángel Blanco highlighted “the good level of collaboration, coordination and cooperation with the city of Zamora”.
The intense influx of visitors received last Christmas has intensified the planning for this new edition, establishing as a priority the Citizen Security from road safety to protection against possible sexual assaults, drug controls and alcohol consumption of minors. The government’s deputy delegate in Zamora has highlighted the “considerable increase in population during these days” adding that “precautions will be taken so that all visitors and Zamorano citizens themselves can enjoy these days without unpleasant surprises”. For that reason, the agents will double to work on the three general devices: anti-terrorism, safe trade and leisure plan with the aim of avoiding alcohol consumption, fights and drugs. Likewise, the Security Forces and Corps will focus their efforts on the areas where more crowds occur, especially on the most critical days of Christmas such as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Eve.
The subdelegate of the Government explained that “the surveillance will be extended to the accesses of the city through controls that will randomly establish the Civil Guard and will be complemented with surveillance from the air by the helicopter of the Benemérita”.

On the other hand, it is also recalled that you can call in an emergency situation at 112 or the emergency telephones of the National Police (091) and the Civil Guard (062). In case it is not possible to make a call and in a situation of danger, you can use the ALERCOPS application, from which an alert signal will be sent to the police with geolocation. These means of assistance can be activated by the victim and also by anyone who knows or suspects a case of gender violence.
