December 20, 2023.- The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has litigated for an amount of 16.1 million euros (VAT included) the humanization works of the VA-20 road, between kilometric points 0 and 10.3, in the interior round of the municipality of Valladolid. The tender, which was announced by Minister Óscar Puente last Monday, will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The intervention aims to humanize the VA-20 between the link roundabouts with the N-620a road and the start of the VA-30, both included. The project will integrate this route into the markedly urban environment in which it is located, with actions that will promote sustainable mobility in the area, improving road safety and the quality of life of the neighbors.
In this way, a new cycle path will be built, duly signposted and equipped with LED lighting, new green areas will be conditioned and a structural rehabilitation of the road surface will be carried out.
The action also includes measures to achieve traffic calming, reducing the maximum speed of the road up to 50 km/h along with the adequacy of vertical signage and signage and the narrowing of the width of both roads to 6.5 meters.
Once the works are finished, the section will be ceded to the City of Valladolid, as established in the framework for the conclusion of delivery agreements to the city councils of urban roads of the state network.
This intervention is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), within the voyage humanization program, which plans to invest 105 million euros (VAT not included) to promote a more sustainable, inclusive and accessible urban environment.
