November 15, 2023.– Three farms in the province, located in the towns of Cisla, Madrigal de las Altas Torres and Palacios de Goda will participate, in the coming months, in the CULTIVA program, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA). The initiative offers young women and men farmers and breeders the opportunity to learn in situ about the development of a viable farm.
In each of these farms, which are dedicated to the cultivation of cereals, fodder and herbaceous in the case of the farms located in Cisla and Madrigal de las Altas Torres and to the production of cereals, horticulture, leguminous and oilseeds, sugar beet and vineyards, in which it is located in Palacios de Goda, the participants will be able to make a stay of 5 days with which they will expand knowledge on topics related to the planning and economic and financial management of the farms, use of digital technologies, irrigation systems or management of the crop and soil, among other issues.
The training sessions that will take place in these three farms in Ávila will take place between the months of February and March 2024 and will offer participants a total of 35 training hours.
The CULTIVA Program is carried out with representative organizations of the agricultural and livestock sectors, as well as with model farms linked to them, with the aim of facilitating access to training and practical knowledge of young farmers. The MAPA finances the program, dynamizes the whole process and is responsible for the correct execution of the same. It also makes the selection of young farmers and ranchers who participate in the training sessions.
The host model farms are those that present model differences from the point of view of innovation, productive means, the business model or social or environmental and climatic characteristics. In each model farm, there will be a training manager who will be responsible for transmitting, from his experience and types of production, practical and technical knowledge that young people can then apply in the development of their productive activity.
Each of the three model farms participating in the training stay 2023 of the CULTIVA Program will receive a daily amount of 200€ per training day. It will be in the capacity of host for hosting in its exploitation the young people who participate in the training.
