Renfe records an increase of 2.6 million passengers on public service trains in Castilla y León
In the first nine months of 2023
November 3, 2023.- Renfe recorded an increase of 2.62 million passengers on public service trains in Castilla y León during the first nine months of 2023, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In total, 4.9 million customers used Renfe’s public service trains in the region (Cerca, Avant and Media Distancia) between January and September of this year, of which 2.3 million correspond to Media Distancia services, with a growth of 165% with respect to the same period of 2022. And 110.500 corresponds to travelers of the Short-Range Metric Width Leon-Guardo line, which experiences an increase of 48.7% with respect to the previous year.
A total of 2.43 million customers used the services of the Avant de Castilla y León corridors, in addition to the new relationships declared OSP (Public Service Obligation) provided on the high-speed network, for which recurring travelers can use the 50% bonus Avant subscriptions, with an increase of 85% compared to the first nine months of 2022.
This growth coincides with the implementation of free subscriptions for frequent travelers in Vicinity, Rodalies and Media Distancia, as well as the 50% bonus in the multi-travel titles of the Avant services.
Nationally, Renfe has transported more than 386.4 million travelers in the first nine months of 2023. Of the total number of passengers, 363.5 million correspond to Public Service Obligations (Neighbourhoods, Medium Distance and Avant) and 22.9 million passengers used the services AVE, Avlo, Alvia, Euromed and Intercity.
