November 2, 2023.- The Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 31,340 households in which 90,680 people live since its entry into force and until the end of October in Castilla y León, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). Sixty-three per cent of the beneficiary households were headed by a woman, and in 66 per cent of them 20,716, at least one minor resided. In total, the IMV has reached 39,327 minors. The benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI) reach 18,490 people in Castilla y León.
Of the 90,680 beneficiaries of the IMV in Castilla y León, 54% were women. This benefit, which is paid by the Social Security, is having a special impact on the reduction of child poverty since, of the total number of beneficiaries, 43% are minors (39,327).
By province, the aid has reached 6,901 households in León, the largest number in the entire Community. The provincial distribution by household was as follows: Valladolid (6.258), Salamanca (4.992), Burgos (3.226), Zamora (2.612), Ávila (2.575), Palencia (2.281), Segovia (1.812) and Soria (683).
The largest number of beneficiaries is in the provinces of Valladolid (18,484) and León (18,353). The number of people benefiting by province since the entry of the IMV is as follows: Salamanca (13,909), Burgos (9,870), Ávila (7,859), Palencia (7,151), Zamora (6,966), Segovia (5,909), and Soria (2,179).
Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), there are already 18,490 in Castilla y León. The ICSC, which entered into force in January 2022, is an aid of 115 euros per household per month for children from 0 to 3 years old; of 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years old and of 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years old.
At the national level, the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) has reached 703,538 households in which 2,057,468 people live, according to statistics published by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). Of the total number of beneficiaries, 43% are minors (893,268). In addition, if the number of households is taken into account, in 68% there is at least one minor (478,937).
According to these data, in two out of three households the benefit holder is a woman and, if the total number of beneficiaries is taken into account, 54 per cent are women (1,111,270). Regarding the number of benefits with the Child Support Supplement (CAPI), they have already reached 427,652.
