October 9, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government in Soria, Miguel Latorre, has congratulated the new Lieutenant Colonel of the Civil Guard, Rafael Checha Ortega, for his promotion published last June 6 in the Official Defense Bulletin (BOD). Rafael Checa has been assigned to the Soria Command since January 11, 2021, where as Commander he has been first at the front of the Personnel and Support Headquarters and currently at the Operations Headquarters.
Rafael Checa Ortega, 59 years old and native of Salamanca, had his first destination as an auxiliary civil guard in his province of origin between 1983 and 1985. Between 1985 and 1989 he was assigned as a civil guard at the post of Arenas de San Pedro (Ávila) and the Judicial Police of Girona. As Cabo, he served in the position of Mojados (Valladolid) between 1989 and 1991. Between 1992 and 1996, as Cabo 1º, he carried out his work in the Traffic Subsector of Barcelona. For four years, between 1996 and 2000 and already as Sergeant, the Team of the Juducial Police of Coria (Cáceres) was assigned.
As Alférez, between 2000-2004, he was assigned in Arnedo (La Rioja), as Deputy Officer of the Calahorse Company. In 2004 he was promoted to Lieutenant and until 2011 he performed his duties in Coca (Segovia) as Deputy Officer in the Company of Cúellar. Already as Captain, between 2011 and 2020, he performs his duties in the Sepúlveda Company (Segovia). After this destination, he returns to Soria as Commander in January 2021, where he has been first at the head of the Personnel and Support Headquarters and currently at the Operations Headquarters.
Throughout his performance as a member of the State Security Forces and Corps, Rafael Checa Ortega has received several awards. In this way, he is the holder of a Plaque, Commission and Cross of the Royal and Military Order of San Hermenegildo. He has also been decorated with the Cross of Military Merit with white badge; the Cross with white badge of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard and the Cross of Police Merit with white badge.
Among the courses that mark his curriculum is Investigation and Attestation (Police Technique and Fingerprinting); Circulation and Traffic; Specialization in Judicial Police; Advanced Course in Nature Protection; Course in Intervention of Weapons and Explosives; Course Level III N.R.B.Q. (Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical); Advanced Course in Economic and Technical Management; Professor of Operational Intervention and Research Course in Fiscal Operations.
