September 27, 2023.- The Ministry of Culture and Sport extends the application period for the Young Cultural Voucher until October 31, as published today by the Official State Gazette. The aim of this extension is to encourage and facilitate the maximum participation of young people in the programme.
To apply for the Young Cultural Voucher, people who have reached or will reach the age of 18 in 2023 must register and perform the application procedure on the website https://bonoculturajoven.gob.es. Young people born in 2005 can make the application on their behalf, or through an older representative, attaching a model of representation signed by both parties.
The public company Correos, entity in charge of managing the payment of the Young Cultural Bonus, already began on September 14 the sending of virtual and physical cards to the young beneficiaries. From that moment and once the documentation presented has been reviewed, the cards are being issued progressively until reaching the total number of young applicants.
To date, more than 279,000 people have requested it, a figure that has already exceeded the number admitted in the previous edition. Each of these applications is reviewed and submitted to the process of individualized subsidy control of the General Administration of the State. Once the Young Cultural Bonus is awarded, the beneficiaries have one year to make use of the card from the date of award.
For its part, more than 3,000 cultural companies already offer their services and products through the program that the Ministry of Culture and Sport launched in 2022. The objectives of this initiative are, on the one hand, to promote the loyalty of young people as a public and cultural consumer and, on the other, to offer additional support to the cultural sector.
