Expenditure on contributory pensions accounts for 11.7% of GDP in Spain
In Castilla y León, the number of pensions amounts to 621,317
September 26, 2023.- Contributory pension spending stands at 11.7% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the last 12 months, until September.
The monthly payroll of the Social Security contributory benefits in the month of September was 12,051.4 million euros.
Distribution according to pension class in Castilla y León
Almost three-quarters of the contributory pension payroll for September corresponds to retirement pensions, namely 74.33%, or €551.5 million. A little over EUR 127 million has been allocated to widows' pensions, while the payroll for permanent disability benefits amounts to EUR 50.7 million, orphan's pension to almost EUR 10 million and family benefits to EUR 2.79 million.
Of the 621,317 contributory pensions paid, 402,710 are for retirement, 150,027 for widows, 45,473 for permanent disability, 19,204 for orphans and 3,903 for relatives. The number of pensions is growing at a year-on-year rate of 0.88%.
For its part, the number of pensioners is from 570,049 to 1 September. Of these, 264,980 are men and 305,069 women. The proportion of pensions per pensioner is 1.08 benefits per person.
Average pension in Castilla y León
The average pension of the system amounts to 1,194.30 euros per month. This amount includes the different types of pension (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and in favour of family members).
The average retirement pension of the system, for its part, is 1,369.48 euros. For its part, the average widow ' s pension is Euro847.15 per month, the permanent disability pension is Euro1,115.59 per month, the orphan ' s pension is Euro516.37 and the family benefits are Euro715.39 per month on average.
Gender gap add-ons in Castilla y León
In September, 35,206 pensions received the gender gap supplement. The average monthly amount of this supplement in the pension is 67 euros. Of the more than 35,000 pensions supplemented, 23.4% are pensioners with one child (8,251), who previously had no access to the maternity supplement. 46.1% of beneficiaries have two children (16,252); 18.8% have three children (6,618); and four children have 11.6% (4,085).
The gender gap supplement, in force since February 2021, consists of a fixed amount, after the revaluation applied in 2023, of 30.40 euros per month per child, which applies from the first child, unlike the previous maternity supplement. It is requested at the same time as the pension is requested.
Passive classes in Castilla y León
For its part, the monthly pension payroll of Passive Classes amounted to 118.6 million euros in the month of August, the last data available. This figure represents an increase of 11.6 million euros compared to the previous year, 10.84% more.
The number of pensions in force was 56,468, 782 more pensions than in the same month of the previous year (1.4% annual variation).
The Passive Class System of the State includes primarily military and civilian personnel of the General Administration of the State, the Administration of Justice, the General Courts and other constitutional or State bodies, as well as officials transferred to the autonomous communities.
