Ángel Blanco complies with the commitment made with the mayor of the town on July 31 at his meeting Zamora
September 19, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government visited Castrogonzalo this morning with the head of the Road Unit Adolfo Güell, thus fulfilling the commitment made last July with the mayor of the town.
At that meeting, Gonzalo García explained to the government representative the need to urgently undertake a series of works at a strategic point on the N-610 road. According to Ángel Blanco: “These were necessary works that have finally been able to be carried out quickly by the Road Unit of the Ministry of Transport and that have had an investment of about 55,000 euros.”
The intervention, located at Pk 98+800, consisted of milling, replacing and painting the roundabout and accesses in Paradores de Castro Gonzalo and was executed by the ZA-3 conservation sector.
Taking advantage of the visit, the mayor has shown the subdelegate and the head of the Road Unit some areas around the medieval bridge that according to the mayor need urgent works of improvement and sanitation that would pass first of all by the demolition of some constructions, old houses of walkers, which are in very bad condition and which, apparently, are owned by the Ministry of Transport: “We have indicated to the mayor that he formally request the demolition and if the ownership is of the Ministry, we understand that we must bet on the security of the area,” said Ángel Blanco.
In addition, the president of the town has requested the intermediation of the subdelegate with the Hydrographic Confederation of the Douro to carry out the cleaning of the margins of the Esla: “The city council is willing to take care of it but we need the permission of the Confederation,” according to the mayor.
The tour has ended with a long walk through the service road near the restaurant El Ermitaño and running parallel to the A-6. The subdelegate acknowledges that the conditions are “manifestly ameliorable”.
