The Government of Spain allocates 1,087,000 euros for 26 municipalities of the province to hire 171 agricultural seasonal workers in the months of the year in which there is no work in the field
Alicia Villar chairs the provincial Follow-up Commission of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Program
September 14, 2023.- The Subdelegate of the Government in Valladolid, Alicia Villar, has today presided over the Provincial Commission of Follow-up of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Program. At the meeting, the works that will be possible to undertake thanks to the investment of around 1,087,000 euros for this year 2023 - which represents an increase of 6% compared to last year - among the 26 municipalities of Valladolid participating in the program this time, given that Serrada has not submitted an application in this call.
Today’s meeting has also served to reassign the nine jobs and the subsidy that correspond to Serrada among the rest of the municipalities in the region of Medina del Campo that participate in the program this year. Therefore, Alaejos, Ataquines, Boadilla del Campo, El Carpio, Castronuño, Matapozuelos, Nava del Rey, Rueda and Sieteiglesias de Trabancos will each have one more job this time.
The Agricultural Employment Promotion Program is part of the Active Employment Policies directly managed by the SEPE. Its field of action is the regional councils and seeks to create and improve infrastructures that make it possible to establish productive activities that generate employment, while facilitating access to employment and income for working people in times outside agricultural campaigns, which improves conditions for municipalities and their inhabitants.

This investment by the Government of Spain will make it possible in the region of Medina del Campo, for 171 seasonal workers in the countryside - 3 more than last year - to have a job also in the rural environment where the months in which there is no work reside. In this way, they complete their income without needing to seek employment in other places while carrying out works of general interest, urban improvements or dotational improvements in their municipalities.
The Provincial Follow-up Commission of the Agrarian Employment Promotion Program is composed of the Subdelegate of the Government in Valladolid, who presides over it; the Provincial Director of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), in his capacity as Secretary; the Director of the Work and Immigration Area of the Government Delegation in Castilla y León; the Provincial Manager of the Public Employment Service of Castilla y León (ECYL); the Provincial Council of Valladolid; the Federation of Industry of CC OO, FIC-UGT and the CEOE.
