September 4, 2023.- This morning in the Subdelegation of the Government all the entities involved in security have met to coordinate their actions for the passage of the 78th Cycle Tour through the province of Soria, among which it is important to highlight the one related to the regulation of the accesses.
Tomorrow there will be a meeting between the environmental agents of the Junta, those of the Commonwealth of the 150 Towns/City of Soria, the Civil Guard of the Command and the security forces and bodies that serve directly in the access race to the Black Lagoon.
All these aspects and others related to Traffic, the participation of firefighters or health services, among other things, have been addressed in a coordination meeting held this morning which has been attended, in addition to the representative of the organization of La Vuelta (Unipublic) and the subdelegate of the Government, the territorial delegate and other leaders of the Junta de Castilla y León, Diputación de Soria, Civil Guard, National Police, Headquarters and Subsector of Traffic, Local Police of Soria and Ágreda, Firefighters of the Capital and the Town Council of Soria, 150 days as well as well.
The 78th edition of the Vuelta a España has a Soriano tour in stage 11 (Lerma-Laguna Negra) that will take place on Wednesday, day 6, and in stage 12 (Ólvegas-Zaragoza) on Friday 7. Stage 11 passes consecutively through the Sorian populations of Duruelo de la Sierra, Covalent, Salduero, Molinos de Duero, Vinuesa, Cidones, Villaverde del Monte, Abejar, Molinos de Duero and Vinuesa, placing the goal in the Laguna Negra.
The Soriano itinerary of stage 12 starts in Ólvega to then cross Ágreda road to Zaragoza, so the security measures are lower than in the previous day. Thus, for example, in Ólvega and Ágreda the corresponding circulation of vehicles will be cut a quarter of an hour before the departure both in affected streets and on adjacent roads such as Vozmedio and Dévanos in the case of Ágreda.
Access and cuts to the Laguna Negra
The agreements adopted with regard to the Laguna Negra, which entails the absence of public buses, are the following:
- Access to the Laguna Negra site will be closed to all types of motor vehicles on 5 and 6 September from the Raso de las Pinadas site, 6.8 km from the Laguna Negra, where the so-called evacuation runway and traditional access runway to the lagoon converge.
- Due to the organization's requirements, parking will not be allowed on the asphalted forest tracks of access to the Lagoon from the previous point to the Laguna Negra spot or in the parking lot of the Paso de la Serrá.
- The access forest to the Raso de las Pinadas from the town of Vinuesa, will be closed to traffic 2 hours before the arrival of the race, at 2 noon on September 6.
- Access from the forest tracks that connect with the so-called traditional access track to the Laguna Negra site (Umbria track from the town of Vinuesa and Tejeros track from the town of Covalent) will be closed, being able to park vehicles on the margins of them, always respecting the instructions of the personnel in charge of the security of the event.
- The occupation of the access tracks and the parking of the Paso de la Serrá by the organization of the Cycling Tour to Spain makes it impossible to start a bus service to facilitate access to the Laguna Negra site. Therefore, access is recommended in sufficient advance, since the accesses from the town of Vinuesa will be closed at 14 hours on the day of the race.
