The Deputy Delegate Receives the New Mayor of Villafáfina

• Ángel Blanco has expressed the need for institutional collaboration and the proximity of the State Administration • The councillor of the town terracampina, Antonio Jesús Rodríguez, has informed the subdelegate of the Government about the situation of his municipality

August 31, 2023.- The subdelegate of the Government in Zamora wanted to show his absolute availability to receive as many mayors of the province request it, in order to be aware, first, and try to solve, later, the problems that affect the municipalities in matters of competence of the Government of Spain. Ángel Blanco has been able to know at first hand the situation of the municipality of Villafáfina, transmitted by its mayor, Antonio Jesús Rodríguez, who was accompanied at the meeting by the deputy mayor, Yolanda Prieto.

The meeting focused on trying to improve the quality of life of the neighbors in the rural environment. In this regard, the deputy delegate of the Government has informed the mayor of the most important competition issues of the Government of Spain in the territory such as citizen security, the expansion of digital connectivity with ultra-fast speed of more than 100Mb, the fight against male violence or the management of rivers and streams, to name a few.

The Mayor of Villafáfina has informed the Government’s deputy delegate about the request he has made to the Douro Hydrographic Confederation so that it can proceed to clean up the regattas whose channels run through the municipality. Ángel Blanco will transmit to the basin agency a report presented by the councillors for this purpose.

Ángel Blanco wanted to highlight the proximity of the Subdelegation of the Government to the municipalities of the province: “This is everyone’s home and our obligation is to meet the demands of the neighbors and try to make life more comfortable throughout the provincial territory.”
