Castilla y León receives more than 1.1 million for programs to support victims of gender violence
Last July, the Secretary of State for Equality and Against Gender Violence distributed 4.5 million among the municipalities for activities to combat male violence
August 24, 2023.- The Official State Gazette has published the resolutions of the Secretariat of State for Equality and against Gender Violence under the Ministry of Equality of the aid that the autonomous communities will receive in 2023 to improve the coordination and implementation of personalized plans for women victims of gender violence. Castilla y León will receive more than 1.1 million euros of the 19 that will be distributed between communities in addition to Ceuta and Melilla. This amount is in addition to the 4.5 million that last July Equality distributed among the municipalities of Castilla y León.
The resolutions adopted by the State Secretariat for Equality and against Gender Violence are part of the State Pact against Gender Violence. This pact establishes that the Ministry of Equality and the autonomous communities and cities of Ceuta and Melilla, within the framework of the Sectoral Conference on Equality, undertake to allocate sufficient personal and material resources on a stable basis to support the network of resources, services and benefits aimed at the protection, assistance, support, recovery and reparation of victims of violence against women.
In the case of Castilla y León, these three resolutions support four projects presented by the General Directorate of Women, which is attached to the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities. In this way, it receives a grant of 72,110 euros aimed at the implementation of the Common Proposal for the Improvement of Coordination and the implementation of a personalized plan of care for victims of gender violence. For the awareness, prevention and care programme on sexual assault in Castilla y León, which runs throughout the year, there is a budget of 617,820 euros. Finally, for comprehensive social assistance programs for women victims of gender violence there are grants of 287,007 and 187,316 euros for three emergency centers that cover the whole of Castilla y León.
Last July, the State Secretariat for Equality and against Gender Violence, in accordance with the State Pact on Gender Violence, distributed in Castilla y León 4,587,821 million euros among 2,248 municipalities distributed among the nine provinces.
The budget of this program amounts to 40 million euros of which, once the evaluation of the remainder of the contributions of 2021 is carried out, 36,228,578 million are distributed. As indicated in Royal Decree 1023/2020, 30% of the funds are distributed, in equal parts, among all the municipalities constituted according to the data of the Registry of Local Entities. Another 20% of the funds is distributed among the municipalities in proportion to the number of inhabitants as of January 1, 2022.
Another 15% is distributed equally among all municipalities included in the Ministry of the Interior ' s Comprehensive Monitoring System for Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System). The remaining 35 are distributed according to the number of women users of the Telephone Service for Care and Protection for Victims of Gender Violence (ATENPRO) registered in each municipality before the transfer resolution for the annual allocation of funds is adopted.
