The accident on the roads of the province decreases during the penultimate weekend of August
Weekly coordination meeting with National Police and Civil Guard
May 21, 2023.- According to the data provided this morning by the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, during the penultimate weekend of August that has just ended, there have been 11 accidents on the Zamoran roads that have left 2 minor injuries.
A slightly lower figure than that recorded in 2022 by these same dates and which left a result of 12 accidents and 1 minor injury. Even lower if we compare it with the data collected in 2021 with 17 accidents and 1 minor injury.
The subdelegation values the optimization of the data but continues to call for extreme prudence and more in these days in which the return home of all those who have enjoyed their holidays in August is closer.
PROVINCIAL DATA ON GENDER VIOLENCE
With regard to gender violence, Ángel Blanco recalled that a total of 175 cases are currently registered in the province under the Comprehensive Monitoring System for Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén System) of the State Secretariat for Security of the Ministry of the Interior.
Of these 175 active cases, 4 of them considered high-risk, 37% are registered in Zamora capital, 15% in Benavente and 9% in Toro.
In terms of coverage, according to the data provided by the subdelegate, 61% correspond to the Civil Guard, 27% to the National Police and 11% to the Municipal Police of Zamora and the rest of the Local Police of Benavente y Toro.
And more data on the evolution of the VG during the month of August. According to the figures provided by the subdelegate, during the weeks leading up to the month, 19 complaints have been registered, 12 of the victims themselves and 7 by judicial action as well as 17 arrests: “Analyzing the complaints, we want to highlight the importance that the victim’s environment is having when reporting. It is also worth highlighting the citizen collaboration, which is growing”.
As an example of this increasingly necessary citizen participation, the subdelegate has highlighted a call to 112 of the customers of a restaurant where a reportable event was taking place.
