Turismo announces the aid of the ‘Experiences Tourism Spain’ program worth 20 million
Several public institutions and associations in Castilla y León distributed grants from this program worth more than 2.6 million euros in previous calls for proposals.
August 6, 2023.- The Official State Gazette of August 2 has published the call for grants from the Ministry of Industry Trade and Tourism corresponding to the year 2023 of the program ‘Experiences Tourism Spain’, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The maximum amount of aid that can be granted to all beneficiaries will be 20,000,000 euros. Already in the call for 2021 this program provided support to develop projects in Castilla y León.
The beneficiaries of this aid may be associations, federations, foundations, economic interest groups, companies, SMEs, religious entities registered in the corresponding registers, as well as public entities acting as entities of municipal, regional, provincial or regional tourism cooperation and public societies with their own legal personality linked or dependent to them.
The territorial scope of the project must cover the territory of at least three autonomous communities, so the beneficiary can present himself as a single beneficiary if his scope is national or with implementation in at least three autonomous communities, or in association with other entities, if he needs to cover the minimum territory required in the call.
The purpose of the call is to promote projects of networks of actors that develop sustainable, digital, integrative and competitive tourism experiences in Spain, which are replicated in the national territory or in the territory of at least three autonomous communities.
Projects will be funded with a minimum aid amount of EUR 100,000 and a maximum amount of EUR 1,000,000. For the beneficiaries indicated in Article 3.1 of the basis of the call, to which Commission Regulation (EU) No 1407/2013 of 18 December applies, the amount received will not exceed EUR 200,000.
The subsidy will be paid in advance in the amount of up to 100 percent of that part of the project budget that has been considered eligible for funding. The deadline for submitting applications will end on September 20, 2023 at 2 p.m.
Applications will be submitted to the Ministry’s electronic office. On the other hand, the full text of the call as well as the rest of the relevant information of the process will be available on the website of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, https://www.mincotur.gob.es/PortalAyudas/Paginas/ Index.aspx.
THE PROGRAM IN CASTILLA Y LEÓN
The program ‘Experiences Tourism Spain’ in the call for 2021, with a budget of 25.8 million euros, has already served several projects in Castilla y León of institutions, groups or development associations with a value that exceeded 2.6 million euros.
Thus, for example, in its final resolution, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism granted aid to the deputations of Valladolid (105,200€), Ávila (172,895€) or Soria (200,000€). One of the highest grants was allocated to the Camino del Cid Consortium for 302,744 euros. It also granted aid to associations related to the Camino de Santiago in the provinces of Burgos or León, as well as to groups or associations related to the world of wine in Valladolid, León or Zamora. The Association of Integral Rural Development of the Sierra de Salamanca, the Association of Endogenous Rural Development of the Northeast Territory of Salamanca or the Rural Development Center of Carrión de los Condes were other associations of Castilla y León that received aid from the program ‘Experiences Tourism Spain’ in previous calls.
