July 11, 2023.- The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has signed a contract for works, amounting to 8.23 million euros (VAT included), for the construction of the section Link San Martín Del Pedroso – Portuguese Border”, of the Motorway of the Duero A-11, in the province of Zamora, as announced today in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
This action is in addition to the work that Mitma is carrying out for the development of the Duero A-11 Motorway, with 44 km of motorway put into service since June 2018, and another 44 km in the process of construction. In addition, of these 44 km under construction, 9.2 km will soon be put into service, corresponding to the section El Burgo de Osma-San Esteban de Gormaz (west), in the province of Soria.
Technical characteristics
The main objective is to extend the current N-122 road to the characteristics of a motorway. The performance covers a length of 1,513 meters and is located in the municipality of Traballas. The route begins at the link of San Martín del Pedroso and ends at the border with Portugal, on the International Bridge over the River Manzanas.
The action also includes the extension of an existing lower passage and the construction of a new upper passage of 30 meters wide.
These elements will improve road connectivity and the mobility of fauna in the area. In addition, geotechnical measures will be implemented to support the clearing slopes, new lateral service roads, transverse and longitudinal drainage, horizontal and vertical signage, road safety elements and environmental corrective measures.
