Renfe invested in Castilla y León about 81 million euros in the last five years
The largest allocation was for improvements to the rolling stock
June 22, 2023.- Renfe has invested in Castilla y León in the period 2018-2022 about 81 million euros. This has been recalled today by the president of the company, Raül Blanco, on his visit to Network Steel, located in the Industrial Estate of Villadangos del Páramo (León), facilities that have equipment related to freight traffic by rail.
Blanco stressed that Renfe is making a great investment effort in this community in favor of the modernization of railway services. Most of these investments are related to rolling stock (train operations, major repairs or purchase plan). Renfe also made investments in actions in stations and workshops, information systems or traffic safety, among other actions.
In Castilla y León, the real investment executed by Renfe in the last five years amounts to almost 81 million euros, being the main part of the company’s investments in rolling stock improvements, with more than 55 million euros.
Blanco recalled the company’s commitment to territories and decentralization with projects such as the Digital Competence Centers, of which Castilla y León has one in Miranda de Ebro. The center celebrated its 16th day two years since its inception. Specialized in development and maintenance of applications, the Miranda center already has 50 employees and has become a reference in the generation of young employment in the region.
