Solidarity farmers visiting the Government’s Subdelegation
Meeting in the Subdelegation
01 de June de 2023.- Subdelegate Ángel Blanco has been particularly interested in this Farmers Solidarity Foundation that was born in 2001 with the aim of participating in the economic and social human development of the most impoverished agrarian societies and supporting their organizational structures.
The Foundation that already operates in Zamora, was promoted by the Unions of Farmers and Ranchers of Catalonia, Valencian Community and Mallorca. Over the years, they have been expanding their scope of action and currently have 11 delegations (Catalonia, Valencian Community, Mallorca, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid, Asturias, Cantabria, Balearic Islands, La Rioja and Valencia).
In its beginnings, the activity was focused on managing the workforce mainly of immigrant people working in the agricultural sector but over the years it has been extended to other fields of action such as reception and social insertion, education for development, equality of women and active ageing.
Among the programs for immigrants or people at risk of exclusion that Solidarity Farmers carries out, are the projects of reception and insertion in the agricultural sector with personalized itineraries for people over 45 years old.
It is also intended to promote intercultural awareness programmes through workshops in schools or the holding of information days. Also activities focused on active ageing of a formative, intergenerational nature and cultural and sector visits.
Ängel Blanco has shown his support for this solidarity initiative promoted by the Union of Peasants of Castilla y León.
