Segovia, May 3.- The Civil Guard, in the framework of an Operation, has managed to arrest one person and investigate two others for their alleged involvement in the commission of an alleged crime of hatred against the homosexual group.
The investigation began last February after an anonymous complaint was received at the Civil Guard of Segovia. Specialized agents of the Hate Crimes Response Team (REDO), began a series of investigations that focused suspicions about three people who were carrying out coercion and threats against gay men in the province of Segovia, resulting in the clarification of an event related to the commission of a hate crime. The events demonstrated a marked homophobic character against the gay community of Segovia.
Those involved lured the attention of homosexual men by deception and, after covering their faces, threatened them with blunt objects such as baseball bats.
Among those involved are two minors, aged 17, who have been investigated and placed at the disposal of the Segovia Juvenile Prosecutor ' s Office, as well as the person arrested, who has already been brought before the courts.
The investigation was conducted by the Segovia Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 4, in coordination with the Office of the Delegate for Hate Crimes and Anti-Discrimination, and the Segovia Juvenile Office.
Agents of the Information Group of the Segovia Command and the Information Headquarters have carried out the exploitation phase of the Operation. During the research phase, collaboration has been established with associations such as Segoenten,linked to the claim of the rights and defense of the LGTBH collective.
This operation is part of the Civil Guard Action Plan for hate crimes and conduct that violate the legal norms on discrimination.
The investigation remains open, so no further arrests are ruled out.
